Roseburg Police have added a new charge to a man already in jail.

An RPD report said information came in regarding a past theft at a business in the 1300 block of Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard. The 37-year-old was developed as a suspect and was allegedly observed on video stealing over $500 worth of merchandise. At 7:00 a.m. Monday the suspect was contacted and denied any involvement in the theft.

A charge of second-degree theft was added. The man remains in custody now detained on $5,500 bail.
