The Roseburg Parks and Recreation Department has the 2026 Arbor Day Photo contest beginning on Thursday, March 12th.
A city release said Roseburg has an amazing variety of lovely trees – including those found in city parks. Photo enthusiasts are invited to capture a shot of their favorite tree and possibly get the photo featured in the Spring 2026 City Connection e-newsletter.
Parks and Recreation Coordinator Tracy David said, “We encourage photographers to explore the urban areas of Roseburg”. David said, “You don’t have to be surrounded by a forest to be inspired by trees. There are some really beautiful natural elements sprinkled throughout our city”.
The deadline to enter is 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 17th. The top three photos will be announced on Arbor Day – Friday, April 24th – on the Roseburg Parks and Recreation Facebook page.
Anyone can submit a photo taken in the Roseburg area. That includes Roseburg, Melrose, Green, Lookingglass, Garden Valley and Winchester. Photos must depict a tree or grove of trees. Entries should include the location where they were taken. Any type of camera can be used, but Adobe Photoshop or other editing software to alter the appearance or reality of a photo is not allowed.
Only photos submitted through the online contest submission form will be considered: https://roseburgor.gov/departments/parks-and-recreation/arbor-day-2024-photo-contest-submissions. Emailed photos will not be considered.
