Roseburg Police jailed a man for a theft incident and a warrant on Friday.

An RPD report said at 10:20 a.m. officers responded to the 2100 block of Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard after the 42-year-old allegedly grabbed an employee before leaving the business. Officers contacted the suspect a short distance away. During the contact officers discovered that the man had a Douglas County Circuit Court warrant for his arrest and he was taken into custody without incident.

After an investigation, officers determined that the man had stolen a six pack of beer from the business on February 25th and had returned to the store on February 27th. The employee recognized the man from store video footage and told him to leave the business. The suspect was allegedly captured on video arguing with the employee before grabbing him.

The man was charged with second-degree criminal trespass, third-degree theft and harassment. Bail was set at $3,000.
