Roseburg Police charged a man Monday in a previous sex abuse case.

An RPD report said while investigating a previous child sex abuse case, detectives discovered child sex abuse material from 2020 involving an unidentified victim unrelated to the original case. Upon identification, 42-year-old Gregory Van Egdom, who was already lodged in corrections on the previous case, was charged with the additional crimes.

The new charges were sexual abuse in the first degree, sodomy in the first degree, encouraging child sexual abuse in the third degree and using a child in a display of sexually explicit conduct. Van Egdom is now detained on $300,000 bail.
