DRIVER LOSES CONTROL AND VEHICLE CRASHES ON FREEWAY

A driver lost control of his vehicle, and it crashed on the freeway on Monday night.

An Oregon State Police report said just after 9:00 p.m. troopers responded to the single-vehicle wreck on Interstate Five northbound, about a mile north of the Scotts Valley/Elkhead exit. The sedan was in the left lane when it hydroplaned. The vehicle contacted the concrete center median before spinning out across both lanes of travel, coming to an uncontrolled stop in a ditch on the right-hand shoulder.

The sedan sustained heavy front-end damage. There was a large scrape mark on the concrete median where it was contacted by the vehicle, and ten feet of Oregon Department of Transportation fencing were damaged where the vehicle came to rest.

The driver, a Cottage Grove woman, was not injured. The sedan was towed from the crash scene.
