Covering coastal Douglas County:

City of Reedsport staff were notified of a sewage spill from a manhole in the 1400 block of Hawthorne Avenue on Monday.

Public Works Director Kim Clardy said wastewater staff responded to investigate and determined the spill was highly diluted and caused by an excessive amount of rainfall.

Required signage was posted at the site for a minimum of 24 hours. The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality was immediately contacted and notified of the incident.
