Roseburg Police jailed a man for a reported criminal mischief incident on Sunday night.
An RPD report said at 9:15 p.m. officers responded to the 800 block of Southeast Rose Street after a caller said a man had damaged property and was trying to break into a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers contacted the 25-year-old who admitted to being heavily intoxicated. He said he tried to enter the vehicle because he thought it was his.
Officers then spoke with the owner of the vehicle who stated that he had confronted the suspect, who reportedly charged at him and broke the door on the window to the victim’s apartment building. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. He was charged with second-degree criminal trespass. Bail was set at $4,000.
