Umpqua Watersheds will host a snowshoe hike at Crater Lake National Park, this Saturday, February 14th.
The event is for a maximum of 25 people. Spots can be reserved by filling out the form linked at: https://umpquawatersheds.org/mc-events/crater-lake-snowshoe-hike/
The park has limited parking, so participants should carpool if they can. Drivers should arrive with a full tank of gas, as fueling options are limited. When drivers get to the gate, they should mention being part of the Umpqua Watersheds group. This should get them admitted for free, but they should be prepared to pay the entrance fee, just in case. All vehicles must carry chains and have them on if it is snowing.
Attendees should bring a sack lunch, good winter boots and warm shoes. Bring snowshoes if possible. Park rangers can provide snowshoes for those who need them.
Those who want to carpool should meet at the Roseburg Public Library front parking lot at 8:00 a.m. Saturday. People meeting the group at the rim should be on the top floor of Rim Village at 12:30 p.m.
