A suspect who discharged a firearm along Interstate Five north of the Edenbower Boulevard interchange in Roseburg led to the closure of the northbound lanes of the freeway for a time on Thursday morning.
An Oregon State Police report released late Thursday afternoon said the suspect was in custody and there was no current danger to the public. OSP investigators spent much of the day combing the area.
The incident began at around 8:20 a.m. One southbound lane of the interstate was also closed for a time. The roadway was re-opened at around 9:10 a.m.
No further details have yet been released.
OSP was assisted by the Roseburg Police Department, Sutherlin Police Department and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
