Roseburg Police jailed a woman for a reported theft incident on Wednesday night.
An RPD report said at 8:50 p.m. officers responded to a store in the 2700 block of Northwest Stewart Parkway where a 40-year-old suspect had been detained by asset protection staff. The woman allegedly admitted to stealing over $200 worth of merchandise and told officers that she was on probation. Her probation officer wanted her detained for committing the new crime.
The suspect was charged with second-degree theft and for a parole violation. Bail was set at $6,250. She was released later in the evening.
