Sutherlin Police jailed a man following a reported shoplifting incident on Friday afternoon.

An SPD report said just after 2:10 p.m. officers responded to the 300 block of West Central Avenue. Officers later located the suspect, 24-year-old Lance Ketchem walking in the 800 block of East Central Avenue. While taking him into custody, Ketchem allegedly spat on the arresting officer two times.

He was charged with aggravated harassment, second-degree counts of disorderly conduct and criminal trespass and third-degree theft. Bail was set at $3,750.
