A frontal system that is offshore on Monday could bring some light rain to the Umpqua Valley later this week.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that a weak upper-level trough is preventing moisture on Monday. The frontal system should come in on Tuesday and could mean some light rain later in the day. An upper ridge of high pressure should lead to mild conditions this week. The persistent frontal system will lead to only a chance of rain beginning on Wednesday, with rainfall levels expected to be light. High temperatures should be in the 50s this week, possibly approaching 60 degrees later in the week.
