Stewart Park Drive Bridge in Roseburg will be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic during a maintenance inspection on Thursday.

A City of Roseburg release said the depression-era steel truss bridge will be closed over the South Umpqua River from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. while an Oregon Department of Transportation contractor performs a maintenance inspection. The bridge may open earlier if the work is completed sooner than expected, according to Roseburg Public Works.

While the bridge was also inspected before reopening after a recent renovation project, ODOT still requires annual bridge inspections to be performed in addition to inspections done during the rehabilitation.
