Roseburg Police jailed a man early Tuesday for a reported prior theft incident.

An RPD report said at approximately 2:15 a.m. officers contacted the 36-year-old on Northeast Newton Creek Drive regarding a theft that had allegedly occurred on Monday at a business in the 700 block of Northeast Garden Valley Boulevard. Video from the store reportedly showed the suspect stealing a $200 jacket, which the suspect was still wearing when officers contacted him. The suspect admitted to the incident. He was charged with second-degree theft. Bail was set at $6,250.
