ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN FOR FELON IN POSSESSION OF A FIREARM AND PAROLE VIOLATION

Roseburg Police jailed a man on the charges of felon in possession of a firearm and parole violation on Monday.

An RPD report said at 10:40 a.m. officers responded to the 900 block of Southeast Cobb Street for a welfare check after Adapt said the 67-year-old had made statements that he was going to shoot himself and his roommates. While talking with the suspect, officers located a handgun inside the residence. The suspect was a felon and is prohibited from being in possession of firearms. He is also on parole, and his PO authorized a detainer.

The man was taken into custody and transported to corrections. He was detained without bail.
