Douglas Electric Cooperative will have a planned power outage early Friday morning.

A DEC post said the outage is taking place to make important system improvements.

About 5,600 members served by the utility in the Tenmile, Camas, Melrose and Umpqua substations will be affected. The outage will begin at 12:00 a.m. and is expected to last for approximately four hours.
