The Oregon State University Extension Service in Douglas County in partnership with Umpqua Soil & Water Conservation District are offering a fruit tree pruning workshop on Saturday, January 17th.
It will be held at the Elkton Community Education Center on Highway 38 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The event will cover proper techniques to improve tree health, boost fruit production, and shape trees for long-term success.
Topics will include:
*When and why to prune in winter
*Tool and safety
*Pruning strategies for apples, pears, cherries and plums
There will be live demonstrations along with a question-and-answer time. The workshop is for beginners and experienced growers alike.
