A pickup burned in a field in the Myrtle Creek area on Sunday afternoon.
A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 4:20 p.m. units responded to the incident in the 3000 block of Dole Road. A fire completely engulfed the cab of the pickup and it ultimately burned to the ground from the cab towards the engine. There was no one in or around the vehicle and it was parked on private property. Deputies were unable to locate anyone on the way to the scene. First responders were unable to determine what caused the fire.
The registration to the vehicle expired in 2017 and it was not reported as being stolen. The owner of the property had not seen the truck before and said it was not on his property the last time he had been there.
