The Coos Bay Police Department is investigating a homicide that took place Sunday afternoon in the parking lot of a business in the 1900 block of Newmark Avenue.

The Coos County Major Crime Team was activated. Chief of Police Chris Chapanar said there were not any current public safety concerns due to the incident.
