A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until Friday night at 10:00 p.m. for elevation above 4,500 feet in the Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains of southern Oregon.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service said snow accumulations of 6 to 14 inches are expected with winds gusting as high as 45 miles per hour over high and exposed terrain.
The Advisory area includes Crater Lake, Diamond Lake, Crescent Lake and Howard Prairie and applies to passes on highways 138, 230, 140, and 58.
Forecasters said travel may be difficult and motorists should be prepared for delays. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.
