WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR MOUNTAIN AREAS

A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 10:00 a.m. Tuesday through 10:00 a.m. Wednesday for mountain areas in parts of southern Oregon.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said the Advisory is for elevations above 5,500 feet in the Cascade Mountains and includes Crater Lake.

Winds are expected to gust as high as 60 miles per hour over high and exposed terrain. Wet snow is forecast above 5,500 feet with snow accumulations up to 6 inches. Winds combined with light snow will create hazardous conditions. The strongest winds are expected from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning.
