An online sex crimes operation conducted by the Myrtle Creek Police Department and the Winston Police Department on Thursday, yielded five arrests.
Detective Kevin Taggart of MCPD said in the weeks leading up to the operation, officers were able to identify several suspects both local to Douglas County and from outside the area. Taggart said the arrests included:
*44-year-old William Joseph Manly of Grants Pass was charged with online sexual corruption of a child in the first and second degree, as well as luring a minor. Manly was also charged with a parole violation.
*39-year-old Joshua James Taylor, also of Grants Pass, was charged with online sexual corruption of a child in the first and second degree, as well as luring a minor.
*36-year-old Patrick William Terriah, of Roseburg, was charged with luring a minor.
*24-year-old Wyatt Hugh Cahill, of Klamath Falls, was charged with luring a minor.
*60-year-old David Carl Thorpe, of Sutherlin, was charged with online sexual corruption of a child in the first and second degree, as well as luring a minor. During the arrest, Thorpe was allegedly found to be in possession of methamphetamine and was charged with that as well.
All the men were detained without bail. Taggart said both the MCPD and WPD thanked the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety and the Klamath Falls Police Department for their assistance in carrying out the operation.
