Roseburg Police jailed a man for a probation violation on Tuesday.

An RPD report said at 4:15 p.m. the 40-year-old was found walking in the middle of the road in the 900 block of Northeast Stephens Street with a black plastic sack containing alcohol. The man admitted that he had purchased multiple beers, which violated his probation. His probation officer authorized a detainer and he was held without bail.
