With significant storms forecasted in the region, Pacific Power is prepared to respond to weather-related outages that may occur.

The local power company said in a statement that it is monitoring conditions throughout Oregon and Washington over the coming days. Gusty winds and heavy rains could cause power outages and Pacific Power said it has its meteorology team monitoring the situation and crews are ready to respond.

Pacific Power encourages customers to be prepared for outages by having an emergency plan in place. The utility suggests some simple steps to be prepared, including:

  • Updating your contact information so Pacific Power can reach you.
  • Sign up to receive outage alerts by text, email or phone.
  • Restock your outage kit.
  • Keep mobile devices charged so that they may be used in an emergency.
  • Text OUT to 722797 to report your outage or STAT to check status.
