Sutherlin Police jailed a man for an alleged assault incident late Saturday night.

An SPD report said just before 12:00 a.m. Sunday 50-year-old Jonathan Anderson allegedly violated a no contact order by contacting an adult victim at several locations. They went to a business in the 200 block of West Central Avenue where Anderson reportedly punched the victim in the face. An unknown party intervened and punched Anderson, who fled the area.

Officers located the suspect, but he took off running. Officers were able to intercept the man, but he allegedly resisted. Anderson was charged with fourth-degree assault, harassment, third-degree escape, resisting arrest, harassment and violation of a release agreement. He was detained without bail.
