Roseburg Police cited one driver, following a three-vehicle DUII crash on Wednesday afternoon.
An RPD report said shortly before 5:30 p.m. officers responded to the wreck in the 1100 block of Northeast Stephens Street. It was learned that a 63-year-old man had attempted a left-hand turn from Northeast Stephens Street to Northeast Dixon and failed to see a second vehicle that was northbound on Stephens, resulting in the second vehicle crashing into the side of the first vehicle. The first vehicle then swung and struck a third vehicle that was waiting at the stop sign at Northeast Dixon.
Firefighters on the scene informed an officer that the first driver’s breath smelled of alcohol. A subsequent investigation confirmed the man showed signs of impairment. He admitted to drinking several beers before the crash and performed poorly on standard field sobriety tests. The man was taken into custody and his vehicle was impounded. He was cited for driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless driving and making a dangerous left turn, before being released.
The second and third vehicles were towed from the scene due to damage.
