ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN AFTER ALLEGED THEFT OF BEAR MACE

Roseburg Police jailed a man after the alleged theft of bear mace from a business on Monday afternoon.

An RPD report said at 12:45 p.m. officers contacted the 37-year-old after he was observed on camera stealing the product worth $60 from the store in the 2100 block of Northwest Stewart Parkway. During the contact the suspect also admitted to stealing over $260 worth of merchandise from another business, which was a short distance away. The merchandise was returned to both stores.

The man was charged with second-degree theft and third-degree theft. Bail was set at $6,250.
