Roseburg Public Library’s Winter Reading Program is a celebration of books for all ages.
A city release said the program, which is sponsored by Friends of the Roseburg Public Library, begins on Monday, December 1st, and continues until the end of the month. A library card is not required to participate. Instructions and forms are on the library’s website at: www.roseburgpubliclibrary.org. They are also available at the library.
The youth program consists of book review forms encouraging kids and teens to engage more deeply in their reading. Participants can write or draw about a book they read or that was read to them for a chance to win items displayed in the lobby’s glass case. Youth may submit as many reviews as they wish. Winners will be drawn randomly from all entries.
Grab-and-go craft kits will be available on Tuesdays, on December 2nd, 16th and 30th, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Kits are seasonally themed and vary in difficulty, but generally are aimed towards ages 5 to 12.
In-person story times and special events for youth are scheduled throughout the month. Visit the library’s website’s event calendar or Facebook page for details.
Adults are invited to submit book reviews for a chance to win a $50 gift card to their choice of Yours Truly Bookshop or Sherm’s Thunderbird Market. Participants can submit as many reviews as they wish. Winners will also be drawn randomly.
