The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife has free fishing days around Oregon, Friday and Saturday.
That means both Oregon residents and non-residents can fish, crab, and clam for free.
An ODFW release said statewide free fishing days are a great opportunity to take someone new fishing and celebrate Oregon’s natural resources.
No fishing or shellfish licenses are required for the two-day period. All other fishing regulations apply including closures, bag limits and size restrictions.
ODFW has stocked trout in several popular lakes in the Willamette Valley in anticipation of the event, which draws both experienced fishers and those learning the sport.
