A Washington State man was jailed on the charge of 4th degree felony assault on Sunday morning.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said just before 9:00 a.m. a victim reported that a family member had assaulted him the previous evening at South Umpqua Falls campground in the Tiller area. The victim said he suffered several cuts above his left eye. The 41-year-old suspect from Clarkston was contacted at the campsite and ultimately admitted to the fight.

He requested that a towing company respond to take possession of his vehicle. Inside the vehicle was the man’s rifle which was seized for safekeeping; The man was taken into custody and detained without bail.
