ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL TWO PEOPLE DUE TO LITTERING INCIDENT

Roseburg Police jailed two people due to a littering incident on Thursday.

An RPD report said at 6:20 a.m. officers contacted Jessica Gater and Michael Valdez, both age 38, because they were camping in a restricted area and in a restricted manner, near the intersection of Northwest Stewart Parkway and Northwest Renann Street. Their camp was next to a river and had trash that was spreading into the river. Both had warrants for their arrest.

They were each charged with littering near waters, prohibited camping, and for the warrants. Gater was detained on $15,200 bail while Valdez was held on $7,500 bail.
