November 21, 2025 2:50 a.m.

Giving Machines are returning to Valley River Center in Eugene beginning Monday.

A release said they offer the community an innovative, hands-on way to support local nonprofits. Last year they raised more than $60,000 in donations.

This year’s launch begins with a special opening ceremony from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. featuring local leaders and community partners including Eugene Mayor Kaarin Knudson, 4J School District’s Dr. Miriam Michelson, former Oregon Duck football quarterback Jason Fife, and Sheldon High School’s jazz choir.

Every dollar donated in the machines will support nonprofit organizations in Lane, Benton, Linn and Douglas counties including:

*Catholic Community Services

*Court Appointed Special Advocates

*United Community Action Network

*Linn Benton Food Share

*Community Sharing Program

The Giving Machines accept debit and credit cards and mobile payments such as Apple Pay and are located near Center Court at Valley River Center through December 14th.

Originally launched in 2017, this holiday season the machines will be in over 131 cities on 5 continents in 21 countries.
