SUTHERLIN POLICE JAIL MAN FOR ALLEGED THEFT AND TRESPSS INCIDENT

Sutherlin Police jailed a man for an alleged theft and trespass incident on Friday night.

An SPD report said shortly after 11:00 p.m. the 35-year-old man was allegedly scene on video camera outside a business in the 400 block of South Calapooia Street. The man did not have permission to be on the property. He was located on the backside of the property where there are air conditioning units, which have copper pipe.

The man admitted he had broken off pieces of copper tubing and copper ground wire in his backpack. He was taken to corrections and charged with second-degree criminal trespass and third-degree theft. The man was detained on $2,500 bail and was released on Monday.
