LEARN ABOUT LANDSLIDES IN FORESTED LANDSCAPES

The Oregon State University Extension Forestry and Natural Resources program is holding a workshop titled, “Landslides in Forested Landscapes”, on December 3rd.

It will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the OSU Extension office on Southeast Douglas Avenue, next to the courthouse.

Participants will learn about geologic processes, risk factors and impacts of landslides that affect small forest landowners. Instructors will cover an introduction to slope stability, an overview of the Oregon Department of Forestry forest practice rules that relate to slope stability, and an introduction to digital resources.

Speakers will include experts from OSU and the Oregon Department of Forestry.

Participants needing Oregon Professional Logger continuing education credits, through Associated Oregon Loggers, will receive 3 credits at this workshop.

The event costs $10 and registration is open until December 1st.
