Roseburg Police jailed a man for failure to report as a sex offender early Wednesday morning.

An RPD report said at 12:45 a.m. officers stopped a vehicle for expired tags in the 100 block of Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard. The driver, a 46-year-old woman, returned as being suspended and had no insurance for the vehicle. The passenger, a 41-year-old man, returned as a registered sex offender. After reviewing his registration, it was determined that he was out of compliance, having last reported in July of 2024.

The man was detained without bail and was released later in the morning. The driver was cited for her violations. A valid driver picked up the vehicle.
