A transient was taken into custody following a recent escape incident.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said on October 22nd at 7:20 p.m. the 47-year- old was observed trespassing and stealing fuel at the Roseburg Landfill on West McClain Avenue, just off of Interstate 5. The man ran from a deputy who lost sight of him. He is known to be a habitual trespassing suspect at this location according to DCSO.

The man was located early Tuesday and was charged with first-degree criminal mischief and second-degree disorderly conduct. He was detained without bail.
