INTERSTATE 5 BRIDGE WORK SHOULD BE COMPLETED BY THANKSGIVING

Interstate 5 bridge work in north Douglas County is continuing.

The Oregon Department of Transportation weekly construction report said the project will repair the deck of the southbound bridge over Buck Creek Road, just south of Exit 162 near Highway 38 and Highway 99.

Southbound Interstate 5 is limited to a single lane across Buck Creek Bridge. Drivers should watch for the concrete barrier. The southbound 162 on-ramp will remain closed until mid-November. Drivers on Highway 38 who plan to travel south are advised to detour north on the freeway to Curtin Exit 163 and turn around.

On Buck Creek Road, motorists should watch for intermittent lane closures. Flaggers will provide traffic control as needed.

ODOT said all work on the project is expected to be completed by Thanksgiving.
