The cities of Roseburg and Sutherlin are offering special events for Halloween on Friday night.
In Roseburg, the annual Neewollah Parade begins at 5:00 p.m. on Southeast Jackson Street, in downtown. The Neewollah – which is Halloween spelled backwards, event began in 1933 and is believed to be the longest running Neewollah parade in the United States. While costumed kids seek candy from downtown businesses, a group of Roseburg Area Dancing Witches will be performing on Jackson Street.
In Sutherlin, it’s the annual Trunk or Treat Halloween Festival, presented by Sutherlin Downtown Development. Central Avenue will be the center of the festivities with a haunted house, food trucks, vendors, a photo station and candy everywhere for everyone. The Oakland Flash Mob Witches will also be dancing in the street. The event runs from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
A number of assisted living facilities in the area are also offering kids the opportunity to trick or treat.
