Roseburg Police cited a man following a DUII crash on Monday.
An RPD report said at 11:50 a.m. officers responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Northeast Stephens Street and Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard. The 59-year-old male driver allegedly attempted to make a left turn onto Diamond Lake Boulevard from Stephens Street, directly in front of a northbound pickup, leading to the wreck.
Officers were unable to determine which driver was at fault due to inconsistent statements from witnesses. During the investigation, officers observed that the man showed multiple signs of impairment. He refused standard field sobriety tests. The man was taken into custody and transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center where he reportedly refused a blood draw. A search warrant was granted so the man provided officers a sample of his blood. Due to his level of intoxication, he was unable to be taken to jail. The man was transported to the Sobering Center where he was cited and released into their custody.
Both vehicles were towed from the crash scene.
