Roseburg Police cited a woman for third degree theft on Friday.

An RPD report states that officers contacted a 33-year-old Roseburg woman around 3:15 p.m. at a business in the 2400 block of Northwest Stewart Parkway. A loss-prevention employee at the business reportedly called dispatch to report that the woman, an employee of the business, had been caught and allegedly admitted to stealing merchandise for approximately one month.

According to police, the woman was giving the merchandise to a local transient that she felt needed assistance.

The woman was cited and released.
