The topic of parking enforcement in the downtown area will again be considered by the Roseburg City Council at its meeting on Monday night.
Over the past three years city staff has presented several options for changes to the program with councilors going back and forth on what to do next. The parking enforcement program has been running at a significant deficit for a long period of time.
At their August 25th meeting, the council requested information regarding what other similar size cities in Oregon are doing to support their parking programs. That in-depth information has been made available to the council to help them in making a decision. Staff are asking for clear directions on the issue by the end of January, as the budget process for the next fiscal year will begin in February.
Other items are on the agenda as well. The meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the council chambers on Southeast Douglas Avenue. It can be seen on the city’s Facebook page or viewed later at: www.cityofroseburg.org
