A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for mountain areas in parts of southern Oregon from 11:00 a.m. Saturday through 5:00 p.m. Sunday.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford said 6 to 10 inches of snow is expected, with up to 20 inches above 6,000 feet. Winds are expected to gust as high as 40 miles per hour over high and exposed terrain.
The Advisory area includes elevations above 4,500 feet in the south central and southern Oregon Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains. It applies to Diamond Lake, Crater Lake, and Crescent Lake along with highways 138, 230 and 58.
Forecasters said travel may be very difficult to impossible. Strong winds could cause tree damage. Motorists should slow down and use caution while traveling. Go to www.tripcheck.com for road information.
