Roseburg Police cited a man for ordinance violations on Thursday morning.

An RPD report said at 10:20 a.m. the 52-year-old was contacted during the camp posting process along the river near the disc golf course in the 2000 block of Northwest Stewart Park Drive. The man reportedly had a fire burning inside a steel bucket. He was also allegedly in possession of a large hunting knife with a blade longer than 6 inches.

The report said fires are banned year-round in the parks, and it is unlawful to possess a knife with a blade that long. The man extinguished his fire, and the knife was seized as evidence. He was released after being given a citation.
