ROSEBURG HIGH SCHOOL HAS BRIEF EVACUATION THURSDAY

October 24, 2025 3:30 a.m.

Roseburg High School was briefly evacuated on Thursday morning.

An email sent to families by Principal David Vickery said the situation occurred at 11:47 a.m. after the “Evacuation” alert system was accidently activated by a district employee.

Vickery said this was not an emergency, and students and staff returned to classes by 11:56 a.m.

Vickery said he commended students and staff for responding in a calm and orderly fashion during the evacuation. He said the district will be reviewing procedures to prevent future false alarms.
