Make a Difference Day – Douglas County is still seeking volunteers for this Saturday’s local day of service.
Make a Difference Day is a nationally recognized day of service that is held on the fourth Saturday of every October. This will be the fourth annual event in Douglas County and was organized by a group of local community service leaders.
Assistance is needed on over a dozen projects. The event’s primary sponsors include the United Community Action Network, Thrive Umpqua, Greater Douglas United Way, Roseburg Schools, Sunrise Enterprises, JustServe and The Salvation Army.
Volunteers can choose a project to work on during a three-hour shift from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Groups from businesses and service organizations are also encouraged to participate and can sign up as teams. A list of projects and sign-up instructions can be found online at: https://makeadifferenceday.org/
