Covering coastal Douglas County:

A Reedsport man was jailed following an alleged reckless driving incident on Friday night.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at 11:40 p.m. 18-year-old Jace Parker was called for reckless driving on Highway 101 near milepost 218, approximately 7 miles north of Reedsport. A victim advised the vehicle failed to maintain its lane and all the vehicle lights had turned off many times.

The report said over the past month DCSO has had other reports of similar driving behavior associated with the vehicle. Deputies located Parker and took him into custody. Parker blamed the vehicle for having issues which caused the situation.

He was charged with reckless driving and three counts of second-degree disorderly conduct. The man was detained without bail and was later released.
