Roseburg Police cited a man for prohibited camping on Monday.

An RPD report said at 3:00 p.m. the 44-year-old was contacted for camping, at a vacant lot in the 500 block of Northeast Winchester Street in Roseburg. A caller stated they thought multiple people were living there due to the size of the camp. An officer contacted the single occupant who stated that he had been living there for about two months.

An officer reached out to the property owner to see if they wanted to pursue trespass charges but were unable to reach her. The man was cited and released on the scene. The man claimed he could have his camp packed up and removed within hours. The report said that appeared unlikely as there was multiple truckloads of possessions and debris at the camp.
