Roseburg Police added a charge to a man already in jail on Monday night.

An RPD report said at 11:30 p.m. 31-year-old Grant O’Neill was a person of interest in an ongoing investigation. Officers learned the man was already in custody on an unrelated case. Officers contacted O’Neill, and he admitted to unlawfully entering the city’s Public Works property in the 1800 block of Northwest Stewart Park Drive. The suspect said he entered a vehicle and stole a leaf blower valued at nearly $430.

Charges of unlawful entry into a motor vehicle, and second-degree counts of theft and criminal trespass were added. O’Neill remained detained, now on $10,000 bail.
