Roseburg Police jailed a man for a warrant following an incident on Saturday.

An RPD report said at 6:10 p.m. officers contacted 34-year-old Danya Czernowski in the 900 block of Northeast Stephens Street knowing he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. When officers went to place handcuffs on Czernowski, he reportedly fled into the middle of the roadway, causing vehicles to brake and swerve. The man was taken into custody after a taser was deployed on him multiple times.

Czernowski was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center where he was medically cleared before being transported to corrections. He was also charged with second-degree disorderly conduct and interfering with a police officer. Bail was set at $8,750.
