Roseburg Police cited a woman for second-degree child neglect on Saturday.

An RPD report said at 6:30 p.m. officers responded after a caller said a 4-year-old boy and a 6-year-old girl were wandering the neighborhood in the 900 block of West Stanton Street, unaccompanied by anyone. Officers found and talked to the mother, who said she had left the children outside in an unfenced yard near a roadway for approximately an hour, while she was doing chores and sleeping.

She was released after the citation was issued.
